Spreading the Regenize Vision

Our vision; to bring sustainability and innovation together in making a social impact. And that is exactly what we have been up to these past months.

Our journey in "Spreading the Vision" took us to the Seedstars World stage, where we were selected as a top 11 finalist start-up in Cape Town 2017. Chad Robertson represented us in what was an intense 4 minute pitch and 4 minute Q&A.

Out of the 11 start-ups that presented, only 3 would make it to the regional final that would take place in Johannesburg. It was a night filled with what can be described as a mixture of nerves (from the fellow entrepreneurs) and prestige.

Unfortunately, we never made it into the top 3, but the exposure was more than enough to propel the Regenize name into the greater Cape Town and various cities across South Africa and the world.

And because we like to leave no stone unturned, we took part in other competitions as well. The Youth Start Cape Town competition was an endeavour by local government, i.e. The City of Cape Town, to promote youth entrepreneurship and socially driven ventures that make an impact in local communities. As Regenize, we participated in an effort to spread our vision as well as showcase the massive impact we hope to make on a local and national scale.

In addition we also participated in,The Greater Tygerberg Partnership Social Innovation Challenge hosted by the GTP and Sustnet. We managed to finish in second place, narrowly missing the R 50 000 grand prize by 2% in votes from the public judging panel.

As part of our second place finish, we will be carrying out a community project in the Tygerberg area in the near future. Thanks to the GTP and Sustnet, we have the opportunity to carry out some of the Regenize vision in our very own backyard - with the support of the local municipality and community.

We are currently involved in a few other exciting projects that we will be sharing with our partners and fellow recyclers as time goes. So watch this space, Regenize could be spreading the vision near you!
